In this lesson, we are going to learn how to choose your first guitar. The best way to choose your first guitar is to decide what type of guitar you want to play. Acoustic or electric. Also, think about who inspires you to play in the first place. This will help you to make a better decision.
A personal journey
Learning to play the guitar is a very personal journey and much thought should be put into it if you expect to get anywhere with the instrument. Once you have decided what kind of guitar you want to play, then look online for some reviews and go to your local music store and try some out.
I don’t mean play them if you’re just getting started, I mean hold the guitar, get a grasp for how the neck feels and how heavy it is. How the guitar feels in your hands.
If it feels comfortable and you like it, buy it and get started learning how to play it. If you go through this physical process you’ll find the right guitar. It will let you know it is the one for you.
Once you find the right guitar
Then once you get to that point, look up some videos on YouTube to get started or, you find a good learning system out of a book or a video course for beginners.
This will allow you to make the most progress in the least amount of time. Youtube videos are great because they are free, but don’t always provide the best step-by-step path. Only a system of learning will provide that.
