Ernie Ball
Ernie Ball was an American musician and entrepreneur who developed guitar-related products. He started as a local club and television musician and built a guitar accessories empire along the way. In the 1960s he started to develop custom gauge guitar strings. After a while many famous musicians began using his strings. And still do to this day.
Ernie Ball has become a major name brand in the industry and has spawned his product line to selling guitars, picks, straps, slides, instrument cables, effects pedals, tuners, capos, instruction books & of course, guitar strings.
Slinky guitar strings
During the guitar-based revival of the '60s, Ernie Ball noticed that beginning guitar players were having issues with the Fender medium gauge strings as they were thick and hard to hold down. They were also having issues bending the third string. So he decided to do something about it. First, I went to Fender and asked them about making a set of strings that had an "unwound third string" to which Fender did not agree.
So he decided to create a set of his own. He found a string manufacturer to create a set of custom strings with the third string unwound for easier playability and sold them in his store. With the popularity of these lighter strings, he eventually invented the "Slinky" brand guitar strings.

What Type Are They?
These are nickel-wound strings that provide you with the sound you need to feel inspired to create and play music. By utilizing the latest technology and providing what players are looking for in quality strings, Ernie Ball is a great choice and highly recommended.
All different styles and gauges
The Regular Slinky's are 10-46 which means they are 10 on the high E string & 46 on the low E string. The ones in the video are the Super Slinky's 9-42 gauge which means they are 9 on the high E and 42 on the low E string. This means that they are a bit smaller in gauge and a bit lighter. Both sets are custom gauge strings for different types of players.
These are perfect for bending strings and are great for playing rhythm & lead guitar because they feel good, bend easily, and don't break. The regular slinkies are great as well in 10-46 gauge because they provide a fuller sound due to the thickness of the string being bigger.
They also provide great acoustic guitar strings as well. The kind I play & recommend is the Ernie Ball Earthwood Medium Light strings.
