In this lesson, we are going to look at a Boss BCB 30 PedalBoard. This is a great pedalboard for using BOSS guitar pedals. Especially if you only want to use 3 or fewer. BOSS pedals are great! They've been around since the 70s and are used by hobbiests and professionals alike.
#1: Specifically designed
The BOSS BCB 30 pedalboard is specifically designed for using BOSS pedals. Although it doesn't come with pedals, it does come with cables for the pedals. You just need to get a power supply adaptor. Also what is great about this pedalboard, is that no tape or velcro is needed, the pedals just pop in, and stay in place.
This is very handy for a quick change of pedals. If ever you decide to change your sound or get a new BOSS pedal to try out, you can just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. It's that simple. This is great, as it eliminates the need to put velcro on the bottom of your pedal for it to stay in place.
Pedal power supply
This is a great option for providing power to your pedals. It works great with a variety of pedals, especially BOSS pedals, and as you can see, it is well-made, has a long cable for placing your pedalboard anywhere, and will last a lifetime if taken care of. This one, and others like it can easily be found on Amazon. If you use pedals, and are in need of a power supply, I recommend you check it out.
#2: Well constructed
What's also great about the BOSS pedalboard is that it's roadworthy. and designed for easy carry. he top comes apart for easy use, and can be set up quickly and easily. when you're done, you snap the top back on, toss it in your gear bag, and you're on your way.
No need to worry if the pedals are ok, because they fit in there easily and are completely safe. I've had mine for over two decades, have played many gigs with it, and have had no issues with the pedals. It still works today as it did when I purchased it so long ago.
#3: Only 3 pedals
The only downside to this particular pedalboard is that it can only fit 3 BOSS pedals. So it is designed for the guitarist who uses minimal gear. Guitar, a few pedals, and an amp. If this is you, this pedalboard will work great. When it comes to the 3 pedals, I use the TU-3 Chromatic Tuner, MT Metal Zone for rhythm, and the DD-3 Digital Delay for added ambiance to the tone.
TU-3 Chromatic Tuner
This is a great pedal as it not only provides a great option for tuning your guitar, but also can shut off the sound if you need to change guitars for any reason. Most of the time, you have to shut off the amp and turn it back on. But with this pedal, you can just press the pedal, make a quick change, tune up, and keep going.
MT-2 Metal Zone
This is a great rhythm pedal. It provides a nice thick tone with plenty of bottom end. Especially if you play heavier styles of music. But don't let the name fool you, with its "four knob" tone shaping ability, you can make it sound like a whole bunch of other pedals. Just by shifting the knobs to the left or right, you can create a wide variety of tones. Even if you don't play metal. I highly recommend you check it out.
DD-3 Digital Delay
I love this pedal, and think everyone should have it on their pedalboard. It's designed to add a little delay to the signal. In the right context, this pedal can add a wealth of texture to your tone. But besides a little delay, you can add a lot of delay, or even set the knobs up so that you get some really, wild sounds. Soundscapes that are out of this world! You just need to experiment. I highly recommend this pedal as well.

#4: Buy quality pedals
When it comes to guitar effects pedals, there are hundreds to choose from, which can give you an unlimited amount of sound. But I recommend, you don't get cheap ones. There are many different brands. I prefer BOSS, but if those don't work for you, try out another brand. If you take time and try some out, you'll find what works for you.
Just make sure to buy ones of quality. Even if you buy pre-owned ones, that's better than cheap new ones. That's why I recommend you do some research, listen to reviews, and get ones that you like. Ones that will fit your personality and style of guitar playing.
#5: Get a well-constructed pedalboard
The BOSS pedalboard in this review is a great option for only a few BOSS pedals, but if you prefer to use more than three, you might want to get a bigger one. These come in many different styles, sizes, and shapes. And can be easily found and purchased on Amazon.
Once again, I recommend you do some research and listen to product reviews if possible. If you get the right one, it can be with you for years. Just think about what sounds you want to create, and go to your local music store and try out a few. Before you know it, the pedals and pedalboard will allow you to create a sound all your own.
